Hmm. We reported yesterday that, unsurprisingly, the Ace Hotel New York did not open — and a couple commenters dropped in to let us know that they'd had rezzies for this week and were being relocated.

HotelChatter member Sleepers let us know about the Ace's relocation-property of choice (for this reservation, at least):

I have a reservation for 3 nights in the first week of april at this hotel, and let me say that they not seem to be so pro... if i didn't call to know what is happening with my reservation i think they won't have call me... they made something like 3 differents reservation under my name (!!!)... and now they offer us to stay at the carlton on madison but they still don't send us any confirmation...

Uh-oh. That sounds... disorganized.

The Carlton's a perfectly nice hotel, and it's only 3-ish blocks away from the Ace — so there's no big controversy in terms of location. But, of course, if you were checking out the Ace to get the urban-hippie, funky-fresh vibe — you're gonna be funky-fresh outta luck at the Carlton.

Got a different Ace NYC story to tell? Drop in a comment.

We're staying in the Ace next week and have been moved to the Carlton for our stay. Not too bothered since the Carlton looks fine and we're getting it for $99. I'd recommend other people with reservations to call for info.

I'm italian, I'm sorry for my english, it's not very good!!

I book a room (99$) from 14/4 to 20/4. Is the hotel open or not?
I read that ace hotel opens the 16? What does my reservation happen?

Thank you!!
It's very interesting web site!

other news

I sent email and they said me that today they have an inspection, they would like open on the 14!
If they don't open, they will make alternative arrangements.
