· The Ace Hotel Will Open Saturday: When we saw this comment, we got curious and had to investigate. Yes, the Ace is opening tomorrow but only for folks with existing reservations. The hotel is not taking any new reservations for stays earlier than May 1st. If you stay there this weekend, let us know how it went.

· Meanwhile at The Carlton: This was the hotel that Ace was moving guests to when it didn't open and fortunately, the stay for this reader wasn't too bad. And it was $99.

· Is All of This Good Press for Denizen Hotels?: BabyJ says yes but we have to respectfully disagree.

· Do You Book Hotel Rooms Through a Third Party?: The debate rages on here.

· Foie Gras Macarons Are Not a Hit: We like the new tea lounge at the Hôtel des Académies et des Arts but we aren't keen to try to the Foie Gras macarons.

yes, it is

Ace hotel said, in a mail sent to me yesterday, that they are open, even if they are accomodating approximately 50 guests. It seems that (some?) rooms are ready and that they are still working in the lobby.
