Last month, we brought you news that The Muse New York — the Kimpton property in midtown Manhattan that we know and love for its creative packages, pet concierge and mixology challenges — was wrapping up a multi-million-dollar, multi-stage overhaul and had started the process of unveiling its brand new lobby. When we last dropped in, the newly-revamped lobby area was just peeking out from behind thick black curtains while all the finishing touches were being made.

And finally, thanks to a top-secret hotel maven, we got a video tour of the new lobby area — and, we've gotta say: the place looks pretty slick. Our tipster adds:

It is really visually nice compared to the old lobby, and the bar is no longer hidden in the back room. One complaint though: the video [on the bar's TV] is W Times Square style — it just plays an infinite loop of some guy dancing in Times Square. Reminds me of the dancing baby meets Michael Jackson; would much rather have muted sports, music videos, or whatever.

Our operative also mentioned that the staffers seemed extremely happy with the new digs — and, as we know, happy staff usually results in happy guests.

the tv in the bar at w times square has a live cam of times square? never seen a person dancing.

Great Lobby space.!

Furnishings were extravagant and yet elegant. Just perfect for stay. Sat together with friends. Enjoy the cozy ambiance. Fire play is amazing. I was really surprised and amazed of it. It's my first time to take a peek at it.

i think the tipster meant that the muse TV's were w times square STYLE in that they had images on loop on the TV like the W does -- the muse is the one that has the TV's showing the person dancing in Times Square.
