Sheraton Hotels Will Still Get Promised $4 Billion New Look

Sheraton will finally enter the future.
Hurrah! Starwood Hotels is still going ahead with its $4 billion plan to remake the seriously suffering Sheraton Hotels brand. Yes, $4 billion in this economy even while room revenue slumps and Starwood cuts money in other areas.
Actually the brand makeover began in 2007 and is now nearly 70 percent complete. The remaining 30 percent of Project Sheraton Makeover will be spent on new hotels, renovations of old hotels and other "improvements." Reports the WSJ:
Many of the improvements are focused on its North American locations, where customer satisfaction was inconsistent. But the company reports improvement recently. More than half of the Sheratons in North America have been upgraded and another 30 are scheduled for this year. Two dozen hotels that didn't meet the chain's standards have left the brand..
Our only request? Steer clear of fugly carpeting.
