Too much and perhaps too late? Hotels around the globe are completing renovations just as travelers start to rethink their vacation plans. On the bright side, you will probably be staying in new rooms for less. This week we'll be looking at some of the new-old faces out there and telling you what these spiffed up joints will cost you. Any suggestions? Let us know.

The Westin Galleria Dallas, which we named the Best Hotel for Serious Shoppers in the big D (and yes, we meant it), has just unveiled the final results of its makeover, a nice addition to the recently-revamped (and seriously upgraded) Dallas Galleria mall to which it is attached.

Okay, confession: as many a native Dallasite will tell you, this mall has recently acquired some heavy fab-ness and it's hot time the hotel stepped up to match. The Galleria's interior was pretty-fied, a Sushi Samba was added — not to mention it still has an ice-rink, a Saks and a Nordstrom.

The top-to-bottom, two-year, multi-million-dollar renovation covered all areas of the hotel, "creating a synergy of style elements with the tranquility and rejuvenation of Westin" that meshes nicely with the mall — plus a little of our ol' pal Philippe Starck, swanky hotel designer extraordinaire:

All guestrooms combine a neutral color palette, clean lines, and timeless furnishings to invoke a serene, comforting experience. The rooms include the hotel’s popular Heavenly products which are currently celebrating it’s 10 year anniversary of trend setting in the hotel industry. New noise-resistant and energy-efficient glass windows were installed, and artwork created by Texas artist James H. Evans adorns the walls.

Alberto Meda, renowned Italian designer and engineer, brought his signature elegant simplicity and organic design principles to each guest bathroom, while French designer, Philippe Starck, brought his stylized, streamlined and organic designs to the corner suites.

To celebrate the unveiling of the hotel's new look, the Westin will host a celebration on Thursday (April 2nd) with a fashion show and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Rates at the hot new Westin start around $250.
