Desires Hotels' Moonrise is Rising Over St. Louis
Leave it to Desires Hotels to keep on bringing the hotel funky-freshness to places that, um, you wouldn't so much expect the funky freshness to be brought (please see: the Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee). The quickly-growing family of luxe boutique hotels has added one more to its portfolio in the Midwest: The Moonrise Hotel, arriving (er, "lifting off," per their press materials) in St. Louis this April.
Located in the heart of The Loop, St. Lou's entertainment district, this 135-room quirky-luxe hotel's got the moonlight thing going on inside and out: there's an illuminated, rotating moon on top of the building and an iridescent lobby wall that changes color.
In addition to the standard rooms, guests can choose from ten Walk of Fame Suites, each designed around a theme based on a different star from St. Louis Walk of Fame (Josephine Baker, Buddy Ebsen, Betty Grable, and Tennessee Williams among them).
And finally, the city's guests and residents will have a brand new kickass rooftop bar from which to sip cocktails and watch the moon rise (ha). The hotel's signature resto, Eclipse, will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, and you'll be able to grab cocktails and light fare up at the Rooftop Terrace Bar while taking in views of the Gateway Arch.
The hotel is taking rezzies for stays April 17th and beyond; opening room rates start at $159.
