Too much and perhaps too late? Hotels around the globe are completing renovations just as travelers start to rethink their vacation plans. On the bright side, you will probably be staying in new rooms for less. This week we'll be looking at some of the new-old faces out there and telling you what these spiffed up joints will cost you. Any suggestions? Let us know.

The Millennium Bostonian has officially resurfaced from a $25 million renovation, adding on a brand new restaurant and bar and tweaking the lobby and guestroom spaces with major updates.

First up, the most heavily-promoted element of the newly-remodeled property is the new North 26 Restaurant and Bar, with a menu "that blends the old world with the new, promoting natural and sustainable cooking." The resto serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with seasonal outdoor seating and windows that open onto downtown Boston.

In the lobby, wood flooring in contrasting colors plus wood-stained millwork have been added, with a color palette accented with rich reds. Also:

A floating ceiling system of cove lighting and feature lighting casts illumination, while handmade area carpets, red lacquer bookcases and a comfortable “living room” with gas-burning fireplace assures guests feel right at home.

Finally, the hotel's 201 guest rooms have gotten comfortable, modern updates: dressing areas, "linen-like" wall coverings, 40-inch LCD TV's, and beds outfitted with Frette linens will, hopefully, give this property the modern edge it needs to compete with the big names in Beantown.

Room rates currently start at $199 a night.
