The restaurant will be designed by London’s latest staple architect, Martin Brudnizki, who’s worked on the St. Pancras Grand, Scotts, The Club at the Ivy, and J Sheekey’s oyster bar. It will, apparently, be designed in “true Caprice style” – which means sleek but starchy, from what we can see on the London website.
Because, we have to admit, we’re not au fait with true Caprice style. In fact, even our most debonair acquaintances have yet to dine there. “Meant to be nice, but flashy and expensive,” says one. "Sloanes call it ‘the canteen’,” says another. That’d be why we haven’t gone, then.
According to the NYT, “the menu will adapt the easygoing European style of the London restaurant.” Let’s just hope it doesn’t mimic the rest of the hotel’s prices.
