Too much and perhaps, too late? Hotels around the globe are completing renovations just as travelers start to rethink their vacation plans. On the bright side, you will probably be staying in new rooms for less. This week we'll be looking at some of the new-old faces out there and telling you what these spiffed up joints will cost you. Any suggestions? Let us know.

Perhaps afraid of looking like the cougar in the club, the iconic 21-story, 283-room Eden Roc Hotel will officially join the ranks of shiny, newly renovated A-List resort hotels along the Miami shoreline.

This time the magic wand will be waved by David Siguaw, who has put the vamp into revamp in the Hollywood Roosevelt and also the Marriott Marina del Rey, although we hardly think a Marriott can be any sort of vampy.

Nonetheless, we say Eden Roc deserves the $180 million in streamlining nips and tucks, which was slowly unveiled during a soft-opening in the fall. (Think of what that kind of investment money did for Demi Moore's starpower and tushie!) It's a 1950s and 1960s relic (the hotel, not Demi's tush) where Old Blue Eyes Sinatra, Old Crazy Face Liz Taylor and the epic sexpot and mother of Law & Order's Mariska Hargitay, Jayne Mansfield, once played and partied. Your grandparents might recall that it was also once the hot spot where Nat King Cole famously performed "Unforgettable" too.

Siguaw isn't mincing on the fancy. Eden Roc has four infinity-edged pools and cascading waterfalls. And of course it wouldn't be a Miami hotel without a new nightlife venue. The unnamed destination is prepped for a fire hazard as it will be located underneath a glass-portal pool. The hotel claims this isn't a trendy overhaul, as tastemakers like Madonna, George Clooney and Steven Spielberg (who apparently skirt trendiness) still book Eden Roc before those other hip and stylin locales.

We're excited about this timeless hotel's grand comeback so long as they keep Lindsay Lohan away.

And while, renovations in the past always used to mean "jacked up room rates", these room rates start at just $259 for non-Ocean view. Another reason to love the recession, we guess.
