A Night of XS At Encore Las Vegas

Hey, HotelChatter party people: we've got a special surprise for you on this dreary March Tuesday. Our VIP Hotel Reviewer Gabe Rotter has returned to give us a review of the newest nightclub in Sin City. Experience a night of XS through Gabe's eyes.

In Vegas for one night last weekend, the night after Valentine's day, we decided to stay at the brand spankin' new building at the Wynn Las Vegas called Encore. [Ed Note: perhaps you're familiar, faithful readers?] It was a three-day holiday weekend and rates were high on Saturday so we decided to give Sunday a shot.

The rates on the web were in the $2-400 range, so for shits-n-giggles we decided to give them a call. That was a good call -- pun intended. They were running a special: rooms at the Wynn for a RIDIC $129 and at the Encore for an equally-ridic-especially-for-a-brand-new-hotel-room-in-which-it-is-entirely-possible-that-no-one-has-even-pooped-in-the-toilet-yet $149. We decided to go for the Encore, at the reservation agent's urging.

When we got there, we were excited to discover that they'd upgraded us to a pretty size-able "panoramic suite." More like panoramic SWEET! The rooms were shiny, new, and awesome, in a very hip, boutique hotel sort of way.

The rooms were great, but it seemed like they were still working out the kinks with the service. Our bags took 30 minutes to arrive from the bellhop. Some of the room service food was slightly barfy. And worst of all, our doorbell started ringing at 9am while we were sleeping off our hangovers, and it rang three MORE TIMES before noon, which was checkout time! And we had our privacy light on too!

But oh well, who can really complain at that price? Back to our arrival: after we settled in, did a little gambling at the refreshingly small and airy casino, we went to a super-swanky and delicious steak dinner downstairs at Botero. Order the chimichurri ribeye -- amazing.

After din we went to the hot new club XS just next door to the restaurant. The place is super large and very well done, complete with a pool that juts right into the club. It was pretty empty for a Sunday night on a holiday weekend, so we were able to sit at one of the tables that would normally be reserved for VIP.

You could tell that this place will be the spot come summertime. The outside area is suh-weet. It was sort of closed up this time of year, save for a small area of VIP tables, but in the summer a much larger area will open surrounding the pool, complete with several bars and more VIP tables.

Also, the club sports a $10,000 drink that comes complete with a gold necklace and a pair of cufflinks. And finally, one of the coolest elements in the club, one we've never seen at another club in Vegas: blackjack tables IN THE CLUB! With beautiful models as the dealers. Vegas, baby!

Best Guarenteed View of the Strip

Anyone know where this might be? And something that is still within walking distance of everything? And not a million dollars?
