The Langham Hotel Melbourne knows that not everybody's out of credit during the current financial crisis--and so far Australia's not quite as hard hit--so they're ready to make guests feel particularly special with their Paparazzi Glamour Package.

Feeling famous comes at a price. To stay at the Langham in Melbourne for two nights and be thoroughly spoiled will cost you A$4,200 (at least the favorable US exchange rate brings that down to $2,900). Not cheap, but there are lots of luxuries included.

The paparazzi angle comes in with a fashion makeover and a bunch of on-loan jewelry, leading up to a photo shoot and glamour picture; a recent Sunday Times reviewer let her 16-year-old daughter have the fashion deal and she ended up wearing $100,000 worth of jewelry for the day.

You also get various treatments at the Chuan Spa and all the little extras you'd expect in a luxury package, like the compulsory champagne and chocolates when you check in. Our pay check probably ain't gonna stretch to cover this package right now, but we like it that not every hotel is reminding us that times are tough. Sometimes you've got to live a little, or at least dream about it.
