What Kind of Internet Can You Expect at Hotel Indigo?

March 24, 2009 at 3:42 PM | by Jenna | 0 Comments

InterContinental's hip, "branded-boutique" Hotel Indigo chain has been expanding on the double.

Some say Indigo is IHG's answer to Starwood's W Hotels; some say it was the precursor to all those lifestyle boutique hotels going up all over the place these days, like Aloft, Element, Hyatt's Andaz and good ol' Denizen. The first property opened up in 2006 and since then it has been targeting the younger business traveler in U.S. locations from Scottsdale to NYC. So yes, Indigo: you have arrived; you are expanding — but the real question is: what's your Internet sitch?

We scoured the TripAdvisor reviews for a definitive answer to this question — but we found a whole lot of "good Internet access!" and "access to the Internet was free." That tells us that Internet exists, but whether it is free at all properties, accessible in all the rooms and free in all the rooms was yet to be determined. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on what you're into), Indigo's site is more focused on the booking than on the features at each individual property.

But no matter! We contacted an Indigo rep to get the final, official word:

Internet access is a standard requirement for al hotels -- there is a free wireless internet “hot spot” in the lobby and public spaces and free high-speed Internet (or wireless) access in all guestrooms.

There you have it — "officially." Anyone have a different experience with the Internet at Indigo? Get to talkin'.
