DC families inspired by the country’s new populism bent can turn their Spring Break into an opportunity for bragging rights over all the good deeds they did while staying at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort.

About 80 miles from the Capital Beltway in Cambridge, Maryland, the resort is perched along the Choptank River in the Chesapeake Bay, a prime getaway spot among Washingtonians. And the hotel’s Spring Fever package is not only good for karma but also pretty easy on the wallet, with rates starting at just $129 a night, from March 29 through June 1.

While relaxing at the resort, guests can volunteer with area organizations like Habitat for Humanity in the nearby small towns of Easton and Cambridge, or help with an outdoor Earth Day beautification project at the revitalizing Cambridge Main Street.

And guests who stay April 4-19 can choose from an array of free family activities, from double-feature “dive-in” movies to daily yoga and water aerobics to chair massages in the lobby. Families can duke it out over golf, tennis, volleyball, and mini golf at Olympic tournaments, and kids can get temporary tattoos or their faces painted and play in a moon bounce and arcade room.

April guests also get the first look at $7 million in renovations, which completes this month. Rates start at $129 weeknights and $199 Fridays and Saturdays. Use rate code SFEVER when booking.
