Kimpton goes on to explain that the concept of its Palomar family of properties “embodies the artistic spirit of the bustling community with its theme: Art in Motion.” So it’s a theme hotel!
We haven’t gotten a peek at the rooms, but are told that like the other hotels in the Palomar stable, Atlanta’s 304 rooms will be done up in simple, clean (some might say austere) lines and furnishings, featuring neutral color schemes of charcoal gray, chocolate brown, and taupe, of course, though there will also be some cranberry red splashed in there. Each room will also have one of those enormous oversized Fuji soaking tubs in the bathroom, so get ready to get wrinkly.
The property is located right on Atlanta’s main drag, Peachtree Street, and close to the High Museum of Art, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia (that’s MOCAGA for those of you who like acronyms), the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum, Philips Arena the Georgia Dome, and, our favorite, The World of Coca Cola.
Now about that spiked iced tea…
