'Top Model' Chaos Erupts Outside Park Central Hotel

Guests at the Park Central Hotel in New York — which we're familiar with due to reports of bed bug incidents and general overall dirtiness — have enough to be worried about when they check in. They're hoping for a good experience, surely, and they're almost certainly (at the very least) happy with the Midtown location at 56th Street and Seventh Ave. Even notoriously harsh TripAdvisor reviewers rave about all the cool stuff going on around the hotel.

But something tells us this weekend's Park Central guests aren't going to be raving about the "exciting hustle and bustle" of the block since they, um, found themselves in the middle of a riot. A model riot.

According to a New York Daily News report, hundreds of women were lined up to try their luck at an open casting call for America's Next Top Model when an overheated car parked on the street caused a bomb scare — which then caused chaos.

According to the NYDN article:

A black BMW with smoke pouring out of its hood pulled up in the street near the line, sending the sea of underdressed women scrambling to get away. "The metal barricade fell down," said Kiara McCarthy, 19, of Levittown, L.I. "All of a sudden we heard this roar from behind us and we looked behind us and there's a wave of people falling on top of us."

"We all fell on top of each other," said Rose, of Scranton, Pa. "People were squished against the wall, screaming, 'I can't breathe! I can't breathe!'" A total of six women were injured, authorities said.

Could you imagine walking out of your hotel to encounter...this? Could you imagine watching TV in your room and then hearing the high-pitched screams of hundreds of model-wannabes on the street below? If you want to get the full effect, behold: a video.

Yeah. Suddenly bed bugs don't seem so bad, eh?

    i dont blame them

...for running away from that car. If I saw that thing park right next to me, and I was trying to not get killed before auditioning after waiting over 12 hours, then I'd go batshit crazy too.

    Top Model Chaos

Yup, I was near there at the time, it was a mess.  And not exactly what I'd call model behavior.
