Snowmass Viceroy Set to Open by Christmas

Since first hearing about plans for the Viceroy Snowmass a couple of years ago, we’ll admit the hotel has been somewhat off our radar. But our apathy is over now that we have an update on when the hotel will open. So mark your calendars! Come December 2009, Viceroy is scheduled to glide into Snowmass (you know, that Colorado ski bunny town that's sort of like Aspen’s little sister who’s, like, suddenly hot).
And really, December’s not that far off, so we’ll commence hotel hype...now. Here’s what we know: The 268-room* ski-in/ski-out condo/hotel hybrid will anchor the new $1-billion Snowmass Base Village. It will be the first mountain resort for Kor Hotels, but it will still be designed “in the inimitable Viceroy style.”
Envisioned as a LEED-certified Silver hotel, the resort will feature a lobby restaurant, bar and lounge, a 7,000-square-foot spa, fitness center, swimming pool, pool café, après ski bar, kids club, casual and fine dining restaurants, conference space, and ski valet facilities.
Worth noting: The pool terrace (rendered above) will be along the lines of the one at the new Viceroy Miami (with the same designer, Kelly Wearstler, who “will re-imagine the beauty of the Rockies through a modern lens”).
If you know more details, by all means let us know in the comments.
*Though the press release we got says there will be 268 rooms, the website says 236. So, somewhere in that range, we suppose?
