What Kind of Sexy Amenities Do You Want in Your Hotel Room?

March 10, 2009 at 10:33 AM | by Jenna | 0 Comments

What motivates you to shell out the big dollas for those sexytime amenities — that is, intimacy kits, toys and whatnot — from the hotel room minibar? Is it an impulse decision in the heat of the moment? A no-other-choice result of your lack of preparation? Or maybe you're just wooed by the sheer novelty of being able to obtain fancy, dressed-up condoms from minibars these days?

And another question: when you purchase (er, even open) a hotel room intimacy kit, what's in there that you want or need the most? If you're anything like us, we think you're probably most interested in the little somethin'-somethin' made out of latex which should cost, like, less than a dollar. And yet: to get a condom in your hotel room, you often find yourself shelling out well over $10 because the love gloves are bundled into an expensive intimacy kit. But does it have to be that way?

We've been seeing sexy amenities in an increasing number of hotels lately (yay!) and so we got to thinking: why all these frills? Why can't we just get what we need — and only what we need — when we need it? Why do we have to buy the whole box with the massage oils and whatnot?

One of the most popular brands of hotel sex amenities is The Booty Parlor, whose products can be found all mixed in with the drinks and snacks at properties like The Hard Rock Las Vegas, several W hotels and The Palms (among many others). The most basic of all Booty Parlor Hotel Collection amenities is a kit containing a Vibrating Couples' Ring, two condoms, a massage oil and a lubricant. Another kit features shimmery powder, a feather "body duster," massage oil and lubricant. These are pricey — especially when sometimes, all you really want to use outta there is one of the condoms. But then again, some hotels charge $7 for a single bottle of water, so this is rather unsurprising.

Some hotels have sex toy menus; others offer insanely pricey toys right next to the chocolate-covered almonds in your room. But do a lot of people purchase these things? What is it that you want your hotel to offer you in the way of hotel room intimacy amenities? Get to talkin'.
