Try a Culinary Weekend at the Lake Quinault Lodge

If you're interested in visiting the Pacific Northwest for something more decidedly adult than a Twilight Teen Tour, consider the Quinault Quintessentials, culinary weekend being held at the Lake Quinault Lodge in Washington.
Who needs to explore the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest when you can spend all weekend learning to cook its specialties from the lodge’s executive chef, Patrick Norris?
From Friday-Sunday, March 20-22, guests can spend the weekend sampling Norris’s food, beginning with a selection of local wines, fruits and cheeses on Friday evening. Package guests will then be invited to several intimate cooking demonstrations from Chef Norris, as well as a four-course dinner on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday.
The wood-shingled Lodge was built in 1926, with a few additions over the years, so the accommodations are simple, unfussy (some might say rustic), and spacious. The entire packages costs $499 plus tax, and includes a two night stay in a Main Lodge View or Lakeside room, a welcome wine basket with two wine glasses, and recipe cards for the dishes being prepared.
Of course, it would be a totally shame to head up to Quinalt and spend the weekend inside with food (or would it?) Never fear, guests can shake off their food comas by hiking some of the 250 miles of tree-shaded trails in the surrounding Quinault Rainforest, or go boating on the lake itself. Then it’s back to the Lodge for the next cooking demonstration.
