Five Hotels in Miami Under $300 for President's Week

Hotels probably consider February one of the most wonderful times of the year, even in a rough economy like this. Aside from lovers taking Valentine's Day getaways, hotels have the opportunity to capitalize on families with children who have the week off in the middle of the month known as President's Week which celebrates the birthdays of U.S. presidents Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. (You know, we almost forgot about this significance since for so long it's usually meant "vacation" for us.)

This year, President's Week starts on February 16 and lasts through the 20th. We decided to look at the rates in Miami for those dates. Why Miami? Because it's easy to get to and because it's warm, especially for the folks in the Northeast and Midwest. Also, there's a ton of hotels here so you can always find you what you're looking for. While there could possibly some of you out there who want to spend $900+ a night at The Raleigh Hotel (yes, that's the current going rate), we're going to keep these picks under $300 for you.

After the jump we rounded up the Five Hotels in Miami for President's Week.

Angler's Resort Boutique Hotel: A smaller hotel located on Washington away from the Ocean Drive madness has rooms for $247 a night.
Booking Site: Expedia.

The Catalina: The Catalina is a bit of a party hotel but it is the ultimate hip Miami Hotel on a Budget. Rooms for prez week are starting at $189 a night.
Booking Site: Expedia.

The Townhouse: Another budget hip boutique hotel just a short walk from the beach. Rooms are going for $199 a night.

Mondrian South Beach: One of the newest hotels in town is not on the beach, but rather on the bay. Still, it's a brand new Morgans Hotel Group with fanciful interiors by Marcel Wanders. And it's a steal at $295 a night. Range Rover not included.

The Standard Hotel: The Standard down in South Beach prides itself on its clean living. (More than the Standard LA can say for itself.) Fitness offerings are abundant here and at a rate of $235 a night, it's rather do-able.

$200 is the new $300

and $300 is the new $500

Warm?

Not today. Woke up to low 40's. Tomorrow should be in the 30's. Whoever said they don't like south Florida because they like four seasons should be aware: we do have four seasons...three of them are summer and the fourth one lasts about three days in February.
