Ah, the ever-present celeb dilemma – to grow old gracefully or invest in a little nip n tuck? Well it’s the same problem for celeb hotels. While the Langham is about to dust itself off from its £80m refurbishment, the Dorchester is looking forward to opening what it says/hopes will be “one of London’s most desirable spas”.

What makes it so desirable? Well, there’s the fact that they’re spending £3.2m ($4.5m) and six months expanding it. then there’s the decor, apparently drawing inspiration from “the glamour and elegance of the 1930s”. Let’s make the treatments nice and modern though, guys.

But mainly it’s the Spatisserie that we’re looking forward to. That’s right, a patisserie in a spa. So you can sit in your robe, soaking up your oils, as you take afternoon tea or sip a champagne cocktail. Or slip that pair of slippers into your bag. Oprah, take note.
