Langham London to Unveil Luxe Facelift Soon

The fancypants Langham London will celebrate its glittery re-opening this April, following a two-year refurbishment that cost a cool �80 million (roughly $116 million), during which time the hotel remained open.

Of course, the first stage of the revamp has been done for a couple years now, which included the hotel�s painfully chic bar, Artesian, and restaurant, The Landau.

But the hotel�s big transformation �re-captures the original personality of The Langham, blended with contemporary touches bespoke to the property,� courtesy of designers at Richmond International. In practice, that translates to a makeover for the hotel�s 382 guest rooms and suites (now with polished marble floors, new art, and a more �sophisticated� color scheme of jewel tones). The new lobby and reception area have been glam-ified, with solid cast bronze gates, a marble grand fireplace, and blown-glass chandeliers.

Plus, the Palm Court restaurant has been enhanced with �textured silk wall panels, bronze sculptures, embossed leather benches� and dark blues and clarets. And set to open in early 2010 is Europe�s first Chuan Spa � the signature spa of Langham Hotels, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine.
