Joining the host of other hotels trying to get some cash flow from “economic stimulus packages,” the Westin Bonaventure is offering a series of discount packages aimed at “creating an LA based economic generator while maintaining a true Los Angeles experience.” So basically they’re begging for your cash on weekends when their normal weekday business customers depart.

What exactly does that get you at “Los Angeles’ largest convention hotel”? Now through April 30, the hotel is offering the Bonaventure Bailout Package for $209 per room per night Friday-Sunday, with a $100 hotel credit that you can use for parking, in-room internet, room service, movies (even naughty ones?), or dining at the LA Prime Restaurant on the 35th floor, or the Lakeview Bistro.

For $199 a night Friday-Sunday, you and your partner in crime can get a guest room and a “select dinner for 2” (meaning a set menu, kind of like a prix fixe) at LA Prime. Then there is the Heavenly Stimulus Package for $139 a night Friday-Sunday, for a guest room and breakfast for two in the Lakeview Bistro.

That last package sounds like it might be the best for independent-minded travelers who like to venture out of their hotel. All the packages seem just on the edge of affordability, but keep in mind that the hotel is scheduled for a $40 million renovation starting in June, so the rooms have seen...er...fresher days.

That and the fact that the hotel and its 1,3000 rooms largely cater to business travelers might be enough to put you off. If you’re looking for a quick, easy weekend getaway in LA, though, these packages might be just the stimulus you need.
