The zen hideaway Gaige House in Sonoma Valley, Calif. has shifted management hands again and is now a JDV Hotel. Previously Thompson Hotels ran this joint, even earning a spot on the Conde Nast Traveler "Gold List."

But now instead of Jason Pomeranc's influence, the hotel will get NorCal native Chip Conley's sensitive touch. As you recall, JDV Hotels is a California-only Collection. So far, there doesn't look like any major changes will take place in the property aside from logo-swapping. And to announce their newest hotel additon, JDV has put together (what else?) a package.

To mark joining Joie de Vivre Hotels, the Gaige House is offering a Zen Suites package priced from $275 per night. Guests can enjoy a savings of $50 off the best available rate Sunday through Thursday through June 30, 2009. The package includes one-night in a 715-square-foot Zen Suite, a bottle of Hanzell Chardonnay and a private tour for two of Hanzell Vineyards – one of California's most enduring and historically important wine estates.

The Zen Suites packages can be booked online here using the promo code "zengaige". We're excited about Chip and co. taking over Gaige. It always seemed random that Thompson had that place in their portfolio. Now, it's almost as if Gaige is run by "locals" as JDV has so many properties in the San Fran area.

Stayed at the Gaige recently? Let us know how it went!
