First we found a rate of $189 per night at the historic Hotel Monteleone, home of the famous Carousel Bar and rooftop pool, and which is also right in the heart of the French Quarter on Rue Royale.
For $154, you can stay at the Renaissance Arts Hotel, which is closer to the parade routes along St. Charles Ave. and Canal St., as well as walking distance to the river and the Convention Center.
If you want a front row seat on the major parades, try the Astor Crowne Plaza on Canal St. right at the border of the French Quarter for $169 a night. The property has just undergone an $11 million renovation, so the rooms should have that new bed smell.
It’s a little corporate, but the Hilton Hotel Riverside is not too far from the action, and you can still get a room for $139.
Try one of those, otherwise, you might get stuck paying $280 at a Holiday Inn for $280! Yes, we saw that rate in our search too.
