Can a Playboy Club Save The Sagamore Hotel?

While the news for the hotel industry is bleak today, the Sagamore Hotel is hopeful that opening up a Playboy Club inside this so-called "art hotel" could be its saving grace. The Miami Herald reports:
Plans call for waitresses dressed in the famously skimpy bunny uniforms to serve drinks in the Sagamore's cocktail lounge and on the beach behind the 93-room hotel. Guests willing to pay top dollar could sleep in a redesigned Hugh Hefner suite.
So basically, this sounds like what's going on over at The Palms will be imported to South Beach.
The Sagamore could definitely use a boost as it lost out on a lot of revenue when it cut ties with its Social restaurant. Since then, it's struggled to make payments on its mortgage.
We're not so sure how an all-American nudie brand like Playboy will be received in a heavily European influenced scene like Miami Beach where nudity is nothing big and 90 percent of the people walk around with little rags of clothing on anyways.
But since The Sagamore is a Desires Hotels property, we're think there's some genius Playboy Desires marketing plans that could come to fruition.
