Tickets to Chicago improv comedy factory Second City's 50th anniversary celebration December 11 to 13 are among the hottest in town. Everyone's especially looking to get into the alumni show, which will feature a who's-who in comedy: Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Jeff Garlin, Jack McBrayer, Colin Mochrie, Bob Odenkirk, Horatio Sanz and Fred Willard are just a few of the jokesters scheduled to appear.

Even though the one-night-only show is sold out, you don't have to go to a scalper to get tickets. The James hotel has a small reserve of tickets that come with a weekend package.

The hotel is offering them as part of the Second City Anniversary VIP Weekend Auction. Along with the tickets, you'll get a two-night stay in The James' loft penthouse, breakfast for two in your room each morning and car service in the hotel's Audi to and from Second City's theater. You can place a bid on The James' website.

Don't dawdle if you're interested because the bidding closes today. In the end, it may cost the same amount as scalped tickets—last we checked, the highest bid was $1,850—but your moolah will go to a good cause, the Alumni Fund of The Second City, which aids current or former staff members who are facing health or financial hardship.
