The JW Marriott in Indianapolis Has Topped Out
December 7, 2009 at 4:59 PM
This is essentially a Marriott theme park.
There's tons of hotel news flying around this week and we don't have time to give each and every story the love and attention it may deserve, so you will have to settle for some news briefs.
· JW Marriott Indianapolis has officially topped out last week. The hotel will be the largest JW Marriott when it opens in February 2011 with more than 1,000 hotel rooms. It will also be a part of what is essentially a Marriott theme park called Marriott Place that will have a Courtyard by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown, SpringHill Suites by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown and the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Indianapolis Downtown (all scheduled to open in February, 2010) and the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown (currently open). Looks like we'll be going to Indy very soon! [JW Marriott Indianapolis galleries]
· The Broadway Hotel in Manhattan has been shut down because of over-capacity violations. [MyFoxNy.com]
The Verdanza Hotel in San Juan, a former Holiday Inn, is now officially open. The full-service hotel has already kicked off its own art fair called "Arts and Friends" which lasts until Dec. 13. Room rates begin at $155 a night. [Verdanza Hotel]
· Singh Hotels and Resorts in the Florida Keys are offering guests who book two or more nights at their hotels one complimentary companion airfare to anywhere in the U.S. If a guest books four room nights, then two companion airfares are awarded. The offer is available even on discounted rooms but there must be a purchase of a round-trip adult fare first. [Singh Resorts Special Offers]
· Le Domain de Lonvilliers has also opened in St. Martin. The 145-room hotel is actually the product of chef Christophe Leroy on the bay of Anse Marcel. And yes, there is a restaurant on site, "La Table du Marche des Isles." Room rates start at $300 over the Christmas and New Year's holidays. After the holidays, introductory rates drop down to $250 until March 31, 2010. [Le Domaine de Lonvilliers (warning incredibly annoying site music.)]
