Get Drunk on a Pump at Trump Chicago
You know how much we love our cocktails here at HotelChatter. We'll find any reason to celebrate with a cocktail and fortunately for us (but not for our liver), hotels feel the same way. We've slurped down Summer Cocktails and Halloween Cocktails and now we're ready for the main event, Holiday Cocktails. We'll be taking a look at these concoctions all season long. Is it Monday already? It must be time for a drink then. Maybe a holiday drink to take your mind off the bad December weather. Perhaps the Pump Jr. cocktail that's yours for $18 at the Rebar in the Trump Chicago.
Pumpkin and chocolate might sound like a likely combination, but add in some vanilla vodka and garnish with a nip of cinnamon and a slice of orange, and it goes down a treat. So much so that on our tasting, we were considering investing in a carafe of it for $80 or a punch bowl for $235. Well, not really, but it was good. Here's how to make it:
Pump Jr.
· Mix equal parts Godiva white chocolate liqueur, Pumpkin Smash liqueur and Stoli vanilla vodka.
Add a splash of cinnamon monin and a slice of orange, and serve.
If you want something hot to battle that Chicago chill, there's always the Winter Magic drink, below: red wine with cloves, oranges, cinnamon and cognac-dunked cherries on top. Nice, but it's basically expensive mulled wine. The Pump Jr.'s much more exciting.
