Newlywed Ivanka Pushes Rings, Dinner, and Nights at Her Hotels

Now that Ivanka Trump has gone and got hitched, she’s trying to entice everyone else to tie the knot, too. As you may know, aside from being executive vice president of development and acquisitions for The Trump Organization, Ivanka has her own line of baubles, Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry, which has a store on Madison Avenue. And The Don’s girl obviously learned something about synergy, because she’s just announced a promotion that marries (har har) the Trump hotels with her diamond rings.

Customers who buy a ring from Ivanka’s Bridal Bar will also score a three-course champagne dinner and a night in a Trump hotel in Manhattan. Sounds like a neat little proposal package, sure, but we’re going to stop short of calling this promo a “deal.” According to the New York Daily News, the sparkers in Ivanka’s line start at $15,000. We’re pretty sure you could hit the Diamond District and get a ring for a lot less—and still have some cash left over for a night at the Trump International Hotel & Tower (where rooms start at around $595 a night) and dinner at Jean-Georges (there’s a prix-fixe menu for $98).

The promotion will also be available at the Trump SoHo—and its Quattro Gastronomia Italiana restaurant—when it opens in February. The rooms there are by designers-of-the-moment Rockwell Group, and look sleek enough from the renderings and descriptions we’ve seen. But after a peek at Ivanka’s store we can’t help wishing they’d do a special set of suites in the same girly-luxe style.

If you want to pop into the Ivanka Trump Collection store to browse the diamonds and consider this hotel proposal package, may we suggest Saturdays. That’s when they serve champagne to folks shopping for engagement rings.
