Anyone with a birthday around the holidays knows it sucks. You get combo gifts (if any at all) and everyone’s too busy with holiday parties and shopping to celebrate with you. But in the case of Boston’s XV Beacon Hotel, the festive-season birthday means gifts for all. The hotel turns 10 on January 1st, and is marking the occasion with a 10th Anniversary Package.

The deal is available throughout 2010 and includes an automatic upgrade on your room and a XV Beacon “remembrance” gift. Then there is a menu of other “enhancements” for your package—you can pick one from a list of 10 add-ons, which include a bottle of Champagne, a 10-year Tawny, a full American Breakfast, or parking. The package starts at $410 a night.

Other deals at XV Beacon include a Celebration Rate—an undisclosed discount that can only be booked over the phone. (You have to get all espionage-like and drop the password “Celebration” to find out what the secret rate is that day.) For January, these rates start at $275 a night, and the promotion runs through March 31, 2010.

Finally, there is a New Year’s Eve package, and yes, it’s still available. This includes a room for the night, entry to the hotel’s private anniversary reception and to the rooftop to watch the Boston fireworks display, Champagne, breakfast at Mooo Restaurant on the 1st, and a late checkout.

The package is valued at more than $750 but starts at $410 a night for a Classic Room. Stay longer and you can score a discount on subsequent nights: 1/1 is $310, 1/2 is $210, and 1/3 is $110.
