They handled the situation seamlessly. I was greeted by staff who confirmed I intended to check in. He said there would be no water for 4-5 days due to some contamination. He brought us to the desk, explained we were being moved to the Intercontinental Hotel which was just down the block. The Intercontinental was beautiful, not new like the Epic, but very very nice, Epic covered the cost of the Intercontinental and gave us a voucher to try the hotel again in the future for free. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, I intend to go back once this matter is cleared up.
We're relieved to hear how well the EPIC is taking care of relocated guests, although we're not surprised. This is a Kimpton Hotel and Kimpton is very in tune with in touch with their guests. In fact, their loyalty program is actually called, InTouch. Plus, the hotel was very cooperative with the city and health officials right from the start. Now, we just hope they can reopen soon. In the meantime, check the hotel's website for up to the minute news on the situation.
