New York’s next Fashion Week may be in February, but save room in your Fashionista Calendar for March 15. That’s when Wyndham’s new sartorial-themed Fashion 26 opens in Chelsea. And because hotels love room rate gimmicks, you can save 26% off room rates if you’re one of the first fashion-forward guests.
The Special Introductory rates are only available for stays of two nights or more between March 16 and April 30. (Although the 16th was no longer available when we checked). According to the hotel’s website, “complimentary upgrades may be given based on availability at check in”—so we say wear your most outrageous OTT outfit and act like you belong. (Perhaps a well-placed “that’s bananas!” or “I die” a la Rachel Zoe as you gaze around the lobby may do the trick?)
You must book by February 15 to secure the 26% discount, and the rates are non-refundable and require 7-days advance booking.
Despite the promise of garment-themed décor and the hotel’s proximity to the Fashion Institute of Technology, we’re still not sure just how fashiony the hotel will be—it is a Wyndham, after all. And then there’s the choice of burger joint Rare as Fashion 26’s restaurant. Do fashion types even eat?
