Five, four, three, two, one...Happy Sustainability! Er, New Year! Papers and cable networks have been abuzz with stories about Copenhagen's Climate Conference, which wraps up today and coincides with news about LEED-certified hotel The Nines' New Year's Eve party plans.

We'd expected the color palette for said event to be green, naturally (ba-dum-bum), but instead we're seeing shades of blue, blue, blue for the Alice in Wonderland-themed bash. (Tiffany blue also happens to be the hue of choice for The Nines' rooms.) The sixth floor of the hotel will be transformed into a veritable Wonderland, with entertainment courtesy of a local marching band. Don't worry, we don't think they'll spontaneously burst into a school's fight song; we're told it's swinging big band tunes they're playing, instead.

For dinner, we wouldn't expect anything other than the organic menus being offered by rooftop restaurant Departure or Urban Farmer, both places which are offering diners the choice to add courses onto to an already multi-coursed meal, in addition to a champagne toast at midnight.

Reservations aren't just recommended; they're required, and dinner at one of the restaurants starts at $85 per person. There are also a la carte dinner and party packages, such as one that will get you a dinner buffet, entertainment, and a champagne toast for $150.

If you foresee getting a little Veuve-happy that evening, don't kid yourself. The safe bet will to book accommodations, too, and there are both Dance + Dream and Dine + Dream packages to choose from. The former offers rates starting at $299 for two party tickets plus a room for the night, which you can book online or over the phone with code NYEPKG. The latter offers rates starting at $449 for dinner on the sixth floor, tickets to the party and accommodations, which can be booked the same way with code NYEPDPKG.

On our impromptu rezzie search, we found a King, double-occupancy room for the latter package starting at $479 (taxes not included) for the night of the 31st. Click here for more information and to make your reservations.

Remember, the cheaper rooms are sure to go first, so try and lock down your Portland NYE plans now. You wouldn't want to be late for this very important date, now would you?
