The Dior Christmas Tree at Claridge's Disappears In Two Weeks

December 16, 2009 at 8:59 AM | by JetSetCD | 0 Comments

Although the promised Galliano for Dior Christmas tree has been up in the stairway at London's Claridge's hotel for over a week now, we won't make it across the pond in time to see it ourselves. The whimsical blue and white tree, complete with prowling leopard sculptures and an exhibit of vintage Dior couture around the hotel, will come down on January 6th.

The unveiling party at the beginning of this month boasted a guest list with some impressive celeb names, ones which had us wondering why Claridge's picked a French house, a French designer, to do their major tree. Why not Paul Smith or Lulu Guiness or Vivienne Westwood instead, to keep it loyal to the Union Jack? Perhaps that's exactly what the have in store for next Christmas, but we suppose we'll just have to wait and see...and make do with an empty foyer until then.

Pictures after the jump!
