George Clooney Left 'Up in the Air' By Girlfriend at The May Fair
The poor May Fair Hotel has been the scene of some budget celeb tension recently. First, Britain’s darling Cheryl Cole and her cheating footballing husband Ashley Cole were spotted having a row in the lobby. Then the pneumatic Katie Price and her sap of an ex, Peter Andre, both stayed there on the same night, despite - gasp - swearing never to sleep under the same roof ever again.
But now, it’s playing backdrop for a slightly more A list piece of gossip, after the Italian gossip rag Novella 2000 got its hands on snaps of George Clooney’s bird Elisabetta Canalis staying on in the May Fair after accompanying her man to the London premiere of Up in the Air. And not only staying on after George had upped sticks to the States, but having a cosy dinner with footballer Clarence Seedorf - who then stayed in the hotel as well.
The Italians are all over this, taking it as proof of an affair, but we’re wondering whether if you had the fortune of being arm candy to one of the most famous men in the world, you’d risk it all by dining with your illicit lovah in a glass-fronted restaurant at one of the most paparazzi-infested hotels in London.
Still, what we’re taking from it is the news that the Clooney stayed there last time he was in London. So we’ll see you staking out the lobby next time he’s in town.
