Where to Stay in Toronto For The Jets-Bills Game on Thursday

Want to combine your love for football with a weekend away in another country? The New York Jets play the Buffalo Bills this Thursday night—in Toronto—and the Canadians are keen to lure NFL fans to their fine country.
Head over to SeeTorontoNow.com to search for packages that include two tickets to the game at the Rogers Centre, and one night’s accommodation at one of the city’s hotels. The packages started at $169 USD, or $265 USD a night for a two-night stay, with your third night free. However, two days out means many of the best hotels are already sold out—including the Sheraton Centre and the Renaissance Toronto Hotel Downtown, which is attached to the stadium itself.
The online res clerk who helped us over at SeeTorontoNow.com did, however, find availability at the Days Inn Downtown—but the ticket-and-room package is now going for $430 CAD (around $411 USD). Over at the Park Hyatt, the package is around $672 USD.
These prices really test our love for the Jets (this ain’t the Super Bowl—or even a game like last night’s Saints trouncing of the Patriots), but there are other ways to get a hotel room if you have your own ways of snagging game tickets—or if you’re content to tailgate in the parking lot and just hang out in Toronto for the night. The Residence Inn Toronto Downtown still has a 2-bedroom suite available for $339 CAD a night, and Quikbook is showing The Westin Prince Downtown for $149 CAD a night, or the boutique Pantages Hotel Toronto Centre for $179 CAD a night.
