Barcelo Resorts Use Weird Talking Pillows To Sell New Los Cabos Resort

Talking pillows. Of course. Obvious candidates for a big hotel promotion campaign. Or have the Barceló Hotels group simply gone completely mad?
If only for novelty value alone, the new campaign from the Barceló group, "Pillow Talk", wins big points. It features six videos of two talking pillows, Sophie the Softie and Drew the Dreamer (who incidentally have their own Twitter accounts), as they dream of a better life. Spoiler alert, in case you want to watch all six videos and enjoy the suspense: Sophie and Drew end up finding this better life at the newest Barceló hotel in Mexico, the Barceló Los Cabos Palace Deluxe, which will open up on December 17, 2009 (or December 15, depending on which page of their website you trust).
This new hotel has been dubbed the hotel of your dreams by Barceló, because they say they surveyed a lot of potential guests and found out exactly what they want in their ideal hotel. As such, this all-inclusive resort will include 34 swim-up suites (and 592 other suites), six different restaurants, and a full-service spa including 16 private cabins.
Room rates during December start at $220 per night and go up to $450 per night for a suite deluxe room with two rooms, all inclusive. It all looks pretty nice, but we just hope the pillows in the room don't actually talk.
