We are suckers for a room with a killer view. We find that we are even more likely to forgive some minor hotel inconveniences if we can stare out the window at something pretty—yeah we are that shallow. Let's help out our fellow hotel mavens by uploading rooms with killer views to the HotelChatter/Flickr photo pool, or by sending the photo along to us. We will feature our favorites in this space from time to time. Remember to tell us the name of the hotel and the room number of the hot view.

What a pretty picture for a cool and dreary Thursday morning. (At least it is here in New York City.) Wouldn’t you give your right arm to be strolling on that sand, or sitting on the balcony gazing out at the Pacific? We probably would, but as it turns out, this killer view doesn’t have to come with a killer price tag. It’s not taken from the terrace of a five-star resort, but from the affordable Pacific Edge Hotel in Laguna Beach.

The “progressive” hotel (their words, and we have no idea what that means, accommodationally speaking) has 130 rooms and suites, as well as a private 4,000 square-foot Pacific Edge Villa, all located—as you can see—right on top of the water. There are two heated swimming pools, but frankly, with this view, who cares? We’d like to prop ourselves up on one of those balconies, fire up our laptops, and never leave. Oh yes: all rooms at the Pacific Edge offer complimentary WiFi so you can alternatively work and stare at the ocean all day long to your heart’s content.

Oceanfront rooms are of course more than “village” rooms with no view, but not outrageous. There’s an oceanfront junior suite available this Saturday night for $299 a night, and on Sunday, an oceanfront room for just $209 a night. (Village rooms this weekend start at $124 a night.) The best part? Now that everyone has moved on to The Hills, your view will never be sullied by MTV camera crews trailing the privileged teenagers of Laguna Beach as they stroll on the sand and ponder their next catty move. Small blessings, folks. Small blessings.
