So, you may not find high-heeled starlets shacking up at the Miyako for an evening, but the hotel seemingly has a lot to offer prospective guests who have environmental awareness on their minds. To be fair, it does seem way more low-key and less flash-in-the-pan than other LA hotels, and we can appreciate its use of recycled construction materials, solar-power, and what looks like a nicely crafted, calming Japanese ambiance. On-site, guests can also take advantage of spa facilities, oversized tubs in hotel rooms, and get a taste of Japanese cuisine at its Gonpachi restaurant.
The website touts it as an "eco-friendly home away from home," and we'll add that it's definitely far away from LA's action-packed streets, though there is an existing Miyako Inn Downtown to speak of. The Hybrid's Facebook page states that the official opening will take place on December 2nd, but we found rooms starting mid-November starting at $80, and up to $149.50 for a "Double Double" suite during their soft launch. The starting rate is raised to $159 come December.
