Which to go for? We checked out standard room rates for next weekend to see where you’re saving the most, and the Le Bristol and the Crillon had rooms for €590, €589 and €530 respectively - ie the same rate as the "special offer" - which seems like a bit of a swizz to us. The Ritz, though, starts its rates at €619, which makes €550 a pretty good saving. Plus, you’ve always wanted to stay at the Ritz, non?
We also asked a Paris-based friend which they would go for if they had carte blanche, and they said:
Much of muchness in terms of reputation. Though if I were you I'd go for the Bristol as Faubourg St H is a really nice little street and Place du Concorde can be tourist hell.
So there you have it - a toss-up between savings and tourist hell, which we’re guessing Place Vendôme can be as well. But hey, you can always hole up in your room, non?
The offer is valid from now until May 31, so if you prefer Paris in the springtime, you can still get it on sale. To book, visit www.lhw.com/leadingparis or quote code L10 or Leading In Paris if you’re phoning your hotel of choice.
Of course, when you get there, there’s the small matter of the heinous prices on the ground – like €12 for a croque monsieur, or €8 for a hot chocolate last time we looked. Best fill up at the buffet.
