What is Holding Up The May Fair's Tea Tray?

Are you thinking what we’re thinking? Because we’re thinking that this is a pretty naughty-looking platter to serve an oh-so-genteel afternoon tea on.

We’re not sure exactly what those orange things are meant to be if they’re not splayed legs. Bunny ears? Lopsided peace signs? We can’t really see it.

The culprit? The May Fair Hotel. It kind of makes sense – the May Fair likes to be trendy, and so they wanted to sex up something as intrinsically untrendy as afternoon tea. Maybe their celeb clients won’t even look at a scone unless it’s on a mirrored plate between two spreadeagled orange legs.

Either way, it didn’t stop us partaking to the full. The green macarons were particularly good. And considering it’s one of the cheapest teas in London - £19.50 or £25 with a glass of champagne – we won’t let the leggies stop us from going back.

Another pic of the goodies is after the jump.
