While you'll likely be spending Black Friday elbowing people at Target for $3 appliances, you Kentucky Derby fans will want to do some hotel shopping before braving the crowds. The Galt House Hotel in Louisville, the official hotel of the Kentucky Derby, will offer a one-day-only sale on November 27 from 1:36 a.m.—to commemorate the 136th running of the race—until 11:50 p.m., EST.

Yes, the May 1 derby is far away, but the hotel's early specials will save you 700 smackers. It's not atypical to shell out more than a couple grand for a room during the derby, which makes it worth it to plan ahead. Plus, you can use the savings on some good betting at the tracks.

The hotel's two packages require a three-night minimum, from April 29 to May 1. They also include self-parking; health club and WiFi access (though the latter isn't really a perk since all rooms have free WiFi anyway); a commemorative gift from the Galt House; a welcome reception with free food, wine, beer and entertainment; Churchill Downs onsite concierge services; and a dozen roses.

The Exacta package is the cheaper option, where for $1,499 you'll get a room in the RIVUE Tower. The regular price is $2,199. The Trifecta package costs $1,999, usually $2,699, and you'll get to sleep in a larger executive suite in the SUITE Tower.

To snag one of the packages, buy it online or by calling (800) 939-4258. After you book your stay, hit the stores to find a good Black Friday deal on a crazy-big hat to wear on Derby Day.
