Bryant Park Hotel
This NYC hotel is conveniently across the street from The Pond at Bryant Park, Manhattan's only free rink. In addition to the you-can't-beat-it price, a lot of stars hang out here: Ugly Betty filmed at the The Pond and Rachael Ray did an episode on the ice. You'll have to plunk down $12 if you need to rent a pair of skates. After tiring yourself out on the ice, you can crash at the hotel for $525 a night. The rink is open through January 24.
Park Hyatt Beaver Creek
What can be better skating scenery than the Colorado Rocky Mountains? The Black Family Ice Rink operates in the Park Hyatt's backyard, and it's visible from the hotel's village-view rooms. You skating fools can do your best Blades of Glory send-ups here year round. Get a hotel room for $299 and rink admission and skate use for about $13.
Fairmont Copley Plaza
Bean Town's chilly climes make it a hot place for wintertime sports. The Fairmont sits about a half mile away from Boston Common's Frog Pond Skating Rink. Admission is $4 and kids can get in for free. Skate rentals cost $8 and $5 for kiddies. Ice queens will be happy to know it's open through mid-March. After a session in the biting Boston cold, you can warm up at a room in the Fairmont Copley for $249.
