Omni San Diego Tries to Offer Holiday Cheer with New Packages

Spending the holidays in a hotel may not seem very homey and warm, but the Omni San Diego, next to Petco Park in the downtown Gaslamp Quarter, wants to give it a go with several holiday packages.

The Stuff Your Stocking package starts at $99 a night. As you can guess from the package's name, the hotel will give you a personalized holiday stocking filled with coupons to stores and restaurants near the hotel. You'll also get a voucher that entitles you to stay in the hotel for the same rate in 2010.

If you want some more yuletide, you can choose the Home Away From Home add-on. For an additional $175, you'll get a fully decorated Christmas tree delivered to your room. The Stuff Your Stocking package is available November 22 to January 3.

For a more adult celebration, the Omni San Diego, offers a Holiday Spirits and Sprinkles deal through December 28. There's a two-night minimum stay, which will cost you at least $129 the first night and you'll get 50 percent off of the second evening. You're on your own for the spirits part of the package; although there'll be a special holiday cocktail menu featuring festive tipples such as the Mistletoe Margarita, made with Navan and silver tequila, or the North Pole, made with ABSOLUT vodka, they're not included in the price. You'll have to pay for the merriment at the bar.
