However we do have more scoop on the hotel's restaurant/bar/lounge. Tentatively called The Andaz Lounge, the restaurant will now use the name, "The Wallnut." The bar will go by the name "Bar 7even 5ive" and will featured Brooklyn brewed beers and NY state wines. Everything from food and drinks to uniforms (from fashion house Theory) to the materials (like brushed metal artwork produced from Queens) will be locally sourced, which will be a refreshing change for Wall Street.
Up in the rooms, aside from amenity perks like free WiFi, complimentary minibar treats and non-alcoholic drinks, there will be lofty 11-ft. ceilings and in the Andaz Deluxe King rooms, a "rotating wardrobe valet that incorporates a safe, closet, full-length mirror and other storage elements into one unit that can open into the bathroom or bedroom." Sounds awesome.
We do hope January 17th is the real opening date but we guess since we've waited this long, we can wait until February too. Meanwhile, Andaz Fifth Avenue will open in Spring 2010.
