1. Empire Hotel: More commonly known as Chuck Bass' hotel on the Upper West Side at 63rd Street, the Empire Hotel is just a block and a half off Central Park West where the parade will be cruising down at the start. While the best place to ensure views of the parade would be the hotel's rooftop bar, sadly it won't be open until after 5pm. Standard queen rooms are listed as $409 on the hotel's website, but we found rates for $337 on Expedia for a king room plus a 10 percent discount at the spa and free wireless internet.

2. Le Parker Meridien: This hotel is located even closer to the parade route on 56th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. We already love the hotel's secret burger joint and indoor pool but we're liking the deal we found on Thanksgiving even better. Booking the Big Apple Family Fun package gets you a junior suite room with one king bed and one queen pull-out sofa plus some over the top Wii sessions and your choice of a spa treatment or free overnight parking. All this for $450 a night. Use code FAMPPG to book. Otherwise, standard rooms on Thanksgiving start at $389 for a king bed with a city view.

3. W Times Square: This hotel recently got a techno-glam cool look which involves flashes of bright pink but the hotel sits at 47th and Broadway, which at this point is practically right up against 7th Avenue. Once you're done watching the parade, head back inside to drink at the bar which starts bumping around 6pm. Room rates start at $452 on the hotel's website for a king bed.

4. Bryant Park Hotel: Once the parade hits 42nd, it will scoot over to Sixth Avenue and march south towards Macy's Herald Square. Why not grab a seat in Bryant Park at 40th and Sixth Avenue to watch? Then you can scurry back up to your hotel room at the Bryant Park Hotel if you get cold. Also, the hotel's Cellar Bar (above) even has a complimentary happy hour from 5 to 6pm and complimentary valet parking on Fridays and Saturdays if you plan to make a weekend out of it. Rooms start at $365 a night for a superior queen but for $445 you can get a deluxe queen room with a view overlooking Bryant Park.

5. Ace Hotel: The Ace is just a few blocks away from Macy's Herald Square where the parade ends. So if you're too cool to follow the entire parade from start to finish, or if you're too hungover to get up that early, you can at least watch the culmination of the parade at 34th Street. No word on whether the just-opened Breslin restaurant is doing a special Turkey Day dinner, or lunch since dinner is not quite up and running yet. Their Empty Nesters package has rooms for $389 on Thanksgiving night which includes a free bottle of wine, a movie and free parking.
