We know, we know, Temecula is not as exciting a wine destination as some of California’s other regions, but sometimes Angelenos don’t have the time to zip all the way up to the Russian River Valley for dinner. For just a quick overnight stay, Temecula can be just the right distance, especially when the Temecula Creek Inn is hosting an Artisan Wine Dinner with Boorman Vineyards Estate Winery. Dare we say it's a perfect Staycation Hotel?

On Friday, October 23rd, guests can head to the Temet Grill at the 350-acre resort for a four-course meal created by Executive Chef Salvatore Giuliano, and paired with Boorman’s premium wines, like a 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon, a 2007 Pinot Noir, and a 2007 Barbera.

On the menu will be duck consommé, Mediterranean rubbed buffalo carpaccio, smoky-sounding oak-staved monkfish, and seared lamb medallions. Throughout the meal, winemaker Todd Boorman will tell you about the wines he’s producing out at his new Vineyards Estate Winery in Murrieta, and discuss the pleasures of pairing food and wine, which may seem obvious enough but these winemakers do have some pairing tricks up their sleeves.

The experience costs $85 per person, excluding tax and gratuity…but hey, you get a free wine and cheese reception in the Inn’s courtyard. Advance reservations can be made by calling (951) 587-1465.

Or make a whole evening out it, and reserve one of the Inn’s 129 rooms with a “Dine and Dream” package for just $149 per couple, including breakfast the next day. You can reserve the deal online at the hotel’s web site, or call the reservation desk at (877) 517-1823.
