Rooms are spacious but not sprawling and combine earthy textures with modern, sleek design. Unlike the city’s candy-colored streets, the palate inside the hotel is neutral and soothing with organic coral walls inspired by the original architecture, crisp white bedding and, of course, plasma screens everywhere.
To combat Cartagena’s 100 degree swelter, every room in the hotel is equipped with oversized walk-in showers each with two shower heads. Trust us, you’ll need an industrial strength hose down during the hot season (June-September) and these showers are a godsend.
The hotel has big plans for their rooftop bar, aptly named 360 Bar, which will host a mix of Cartagena’s young professionals and cosmopolitan tourists for nightly happy hours and chic events under the stars. With a sought after location and one of the best vertical spaces in the old city, the Cartagena de Indias Hotel is primed for a busy high season. Current rates range from $370/night for the standard twin room (shown in the gallery) to $530/night for the penthouse but stay from now until Nov 11th and get 50%-60% savings.
