Langham And Hyatt Starting Caribbean Stampede With New Resorts

Do we need more hotels in the Caribbean? Langham and Hyatt obviously think the answer is yes, because our in-box was filled up with info about their new Caribbean hotels this week.
In Port St George in the Bahamas, the Langham gang are planning the Langham Place Resort & Spa Port St George as part of their plans to triple the number of Langham properties within the next three years. It's their first entrance into the Caribbean market but if they're going to reach that tripling goal, we can guess it won't be the last. The 224-room resort is due to open in 2013 and will be part of a fancy new marina development.
If you can't wait until 2013 but want to stay somewhere new, then change your destination to the Netherlands Antilles and starting from January 2010, you'll be able to stay at the Hyatt Regency Curacao Golf Resort, Spa & Marina (pictured). They're already taking bookings for their 350 rooms, and you can choose from rooms with views over Spanish Water Bay or directly to the Caribbean Sea.
With a fancy 18-hole golf course, several pools and three different restaurants, you might nearly be too busy to do the standard Caribbean thing of relaxing. They've got opening rate specials until March starting at $359 a night.
