Want a private London dining experience for a little less wonga? The Plaza on the River Club and Residence have a neat service where they’ll send up a chef to your suite (they’re all suites there) and cook a meal for you (Kevin Spacey, apparently, is a regular): suites start at £225, and in-room dining from £55pp.
Perennial favourite Andaz, meanwhile, has barmen come up and shake you cocktails in your room (or you can mix your own in the 1901 restaurant downstairs).
Or for private-within-a-restaurant dining, book a booth at the Langham’s Landau restaurant – they come with doors that slide shut on you, cutting you off from the rest of the place and allowing you and your beloved to indulge in as many PDAs as you like without putting other diners off their food.
